PET OF THE MONTH~February 2000

Annie, a terrier mix, was taken to the Skyline Clinic in 1993 after she was hit by a car. Unclaimed for several weeks, she found a home north of Great Falls, where she is hard at work with tractor driving, truck driving and vermin control. In 1998 she was picked by a national calendar company to be Miss November 16 on their desk calendar. A portion of the proceeds from that calendar went to the American Humane Society. She continues to get fan mail in regards to her calendar appearance, but remains very grounded, and never lets it go to her head!!!

PET OF THE MONTH~MARCH 2000

It was in 1996 when "Moon", our March Pet of the Month, came to Skyline Veterinary Clinic. It wasn't long before our own Dr. Smith welcomed him into his family, where he is a dedicated companion. Moon works tirelessly at the clinic, donating blood when needed, and saving countless lives over the years. He is a companion, child protector, and best friend. We salute you, "Moon", our March Pet of the Month.

Festus Pet of the Month for April 2000

FESTUS

Festus, a terrier mix, was a rescue from the highway in Loma, MT. I fell in love with the face the minute I saw him. He is very energetic and happy. He is a runner and jumper which explains why he was on the highway. He only slows down to sleep at night. He springs up and down on his hind legs when he gets excited. Festus loves everything and makes my daily life exciting.

PET OF THE MONTH~May 2000

Miko and Kit, Pet of the Month for May 2000

Miko & Kitsune "Kit" Rubik

These two lovely geisha girls are Akitas, the most important dog of Japan, who has become almost legend for their combination of courage and kindness. The first of this breed to arrive in the U.S. were bought in by Helen Keller, who was presented with a pup by the Minister of Education in Akita in 1937. The whole tradition of the breed has been built around their faithfulness to the family and loyalty to its members, and though reserved in general behavior, they are very affectionate and thrive on human companionship. We salute these two beautiful Akitas for the month of May.

PET OF THE MONTH~August 2000

Pet of the Month August 2000

China

Chuck, Susan, Kyle, and Emily Volf are the owners of a miracle puppy named China. We call her the miracle because when she was born something was wrong with her. At the time we didn't know. She was perfectly fine until she stopped drinking her mother's milk. When she started eating she would throw up. China was the runt and wasn't growing any bigger. We took her to the vet. There was something wrong with her bowel and Dr. Smith did surgery. After the surgery China started to grow. Now she is very healthy and so are her two brothers. Her favorite toy is a purple football and she carries it everywhere.

The children played with him all day until he was thrown into animal court. He is now back at home and happy as can be.

Pet of the Month - December 2000

Barney

Our December Pet of the Month is “Barney”, a 1 year old, very festive looking Pomeranian/Pekinese mix, or Snoodie Noodie! Barney resides in the Carter area, making his home on a farm. He’s always busy with farm chores, horse feeding, vermin chasing, and general alarm and guard duties. He’s an avid outdoors dog, always taking time to stalk a pheasant in the yard. Could he be part Spaniel?
Here’s to all those little dogs, who think they are just a big dog in disguise.

Happy Holidays!!!!! From Barney.
