My little boy was born 8-1-2010. His name is Chazz. He was named by my good friend Bobby Devoe. He has a mind of his own, but is a very sweet little man. He is a little rascal, but I love him dearly!

My name is Cairo. I am an Abyssinian, descended from a long line of Egyptian cats. I rule the household with my demands for excellent food, treats and grooming with the slicker brush. In my younger days, I was quite an adventurer,climbing very high into the cottonwood trees at my home. Now that I am 18, I don’t jump and climb as well, but I am still handsome and regal. I tolerate the commoners who share my kingdom: Bailey, an orange and white tabby twice my weight who fears me, and Ringo, the annoying black kitten, who does not yet respect my power. I take pity on them, as they both began their lives as homeless creatures, wandering the wilderness. Enlightened as I am, I believe that all must be done to help the commoners, especially the homeless who need warm beds, good meals and caring companions.

Foxy Ward turned eight years old in late January 2011.  He was adopted by his current parents, Ron and Holly Ward, at the age of eight weeks.  He was from a litter of two.  He and his sister were much the same color.  He was raised with a German Shorthair Pointer called Sly.  Sly is two weeks younger than Foxy and a lot larger.  Foxy is and always has been the boss.  Though tiny, Foxy is mighty and fears nothing.  He loves most people and when company arrives, he is so excited to welcome one and all. 

Foxy has lived in the country his whole life and must be closely monitored while outside.  There is a lot of wildlife that can easily hurt or kill him.  Eagles and owls frequently fly overhead.  Raccoons, skunks, coyotes, and porcupines are often around.  Foxy loves long walks with his little, dark red girlfriend named Foxy, too.  She is a Pomeranian of the same age and size. 

Foxy has traveled with Sly and his parents coast to coast several times in their motor home.  He also spends a lot of time camping and fishing with his parents.  Foxy’s highlight is licking as much slime off the fish as he can.  Attempting to roll bear poop is a great delight as well. 

Dr. Smith and the Skyline Veterinary Clinic have always been Foxy’s health care providers.  Their prompt attention in emergencies and great general care has kept Foxy in healthy and happy condition.  We have had, since approximately 1989, many happy and sad times with all of our dogs and cats.  Each situation was handled with respect, compassion, dignity, and professional care for both our animals and us by the Skyline Veterinary Clinic Staff and Doctors.

Hello, my name is Bella. I was born at the rabbitry of Brenda and Rhiannon Mitchell on April 21, 2010. I am a Blue Silver Marten Netherland Dwarf Doe. I have been to 3 rabbit shows. The first two I won Best Opposite of Breed. I am pretty and I know it!!!!  My toenails are turning lighter, so I didn’t do as well at the last show. The judge and some people from Japan really liked me at the national show, but my family chose to keep me. Now I am going to be a Mom, instead of traveling to shows! I love to be held and snuggle in long hair. Hopefully in a few months, I will have kids showing at the local shows.

Dear Skyline Vet,
Thank you for finding Lizzy for me and my brother. She is a wonderful pet. We decided it was a girl. When we got her, we were so excited. I don’t know what we would do without Lizzy. Mostly, she just likes to stay in one place and of course eat.

Hi, my name is Luna! I am 4 months old and very cute, if you ask me. I came to live at Elizabeth Shipstead's home when I was 3 days old. My mother had been brought to the auction yard to be shipped to Canada. While she was there, she had me. Elizabeth drove by one day, saw me and my mom, and called the office to find out why there was such a small baby at the auction yard. The folks there told her about me and that they needed to find me a home soon. Unfortunately, there was no way to prevent my mom from going to Canada. So, Elizabeth and Lori Aklestad came to pick me up. They keep telling me it took quite a bit of energy to keep me fed every two hours until I was eating on my own! When Elizabeth and Lori were at work, Lori's husband Jim would come and feed me. Now I live north of Glasgow and have 35 acres to graze and run on. My best friend is Elizabeth's gelding Rio. He's taught me lots of horsey stuff, like who gets to eat treats first and how to run really fast!! I love the horse trailer, going for rides and just getting into the middle of things. I think I might even enjoy chasing cows some day. I've tried to go down stairs on my own, follow Elizabeth into the house and suck on corn cobs.

Thanks for thinking of Luna for pet of the month. It really is amazing how strong she is! I sure appreciate all the times Dr. Smith has answered our questions and phone calls!
Elizabeth Shipstead

Here is Clyde! He is a 19 year young Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks horse who has served this state as a
backcountry wonder horse his whole life. He is a tried and true mountain pony. Small wonder, he is loved and appreciated by all who meet him. Way to go Clyde and keep on climbin’ those hills!

Our September pet comes to us from Lewis and Sharon Thoenes. Takoda Fast Runner or “Koda”, 
was foaled on May 11, 2008 in Cascade Mt.  He is an Overo stallion. He is pictured here with Lewis and Sharon’s granddaughter, Tenika Garteiz, who developed a friendship with Koda at a very early age. The two spent many hours together in the barn area & in the pasture.Koda’s father is a registered Sorrel/Overo and his mother is a registered Quarter horse. Both are from the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in Harlem.

"Tank" Lippert

 “Tank” Lippert, who is owned and taken care of by me, Courtney Lippert, is a very colorful purple and red Beta fish that likes to swim around his fish bowl 24/7, which is a good thing, since he is a fish! His 2nd favorite thing to do is eat! I got Tank in the summer of 2009, as a gift from my Aunt Sarah.

Tinkerbelle

Our February sweetheart is the adorable “Tinkerbelle” Walters. Tinkerbelle was born in October of 2007 to Patrick and Vanda Walters. She is a good watch dog when needed, but still loves people. Fun time is spent running around the yard, playing with her toys. She also shares her home with her feline friends: Anna Belle, the domestic shorthair, and Dusty the Siamese.
